I am God's Woman.

Say this:
I am God’s Woman. I speak only what I hear Him say. I think His thoughts. I love His people. I establish the mood wherever I go. I am a light in a dark, dark world. I carry the life-giving Word of God in my heart, mind, and spirit as well as the Holy Spirit who dwells within me. I accomplish what I set out to accomplish. I love God because He first loved me. I am God’s Woman.
So often, as women, we let hormones, mood swings, feelings, lack of energy, etc. be excuses for why we let our thoughts run wild, why we say things without thinking, why we don’t use self-control or discipline, why we are not accomplishing what we set out to accomplish… We identify ourselves simply as women, weak-willed and inadequate.
Never in the Bible, though, are exceptions to commandments made for women because of their physical disadvantages, if you will. Instead, I’m convinced, the Bible very blatantly equips women to be strong, steadfast, and unwavering, the opposite of what feelings and society would tell us we are. For instance, Psalm 46:5 (“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day”). It is one of several verses in the Bible that assigns a noun (in this verse, a city) the feminine gender, which probably was not an accident. We can assume that, because a gender is assigned to the thing in this verse, it is an analogy, making it applicable to us as females.
So what does it look like to be God’s Woman? A woman who belongs to God…
1.      …speaks only what she hears God say.
Ephesians 4:29 … “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Proverbs 31:26 … “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
Proverbs 25:11 … “The right word at the right time is like a custom-made piece of jewelry.”
James 1:26 (with a feminine flare) … “If anyone considers herself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on her tongue, she deceives herself and her religion is worthless.”
2.      thinks God’s thoughts.
Ephesians 6:17 … “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Philippians 4:8 … “Finally, [sisters], whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praise worthy—think about such things.”
3.      loves people.
James 1:27 … “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
4.      establishes the mood wherever she goes. This means that she speaks highly of people, creating favorable impressions of them in the minds of others. She banishes gossip from her lips and ears. She radiates a positive attitude. She does not delight in evil. She sets the example and the pace by which those in her presence live. She shapes the mindsets of those around her with her words, attitudes, and actions.
Job 29: 24-25 … “When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it; the light of my face was precious to them. I chose the way for them and sat as their chief; I dwelt as a [queen] among [her] troops; I was like one who comforts mourners.”
5.      is a light in a dark, dark world.
Matthew 5:14-16 … “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
6.      carries the life-giving Word of God in her heart, mind, and spirit as well as the Holy Spirit who dwells within her.
Colossians 3:16 … “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”
Jude 20 … “But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.”
7.      is not weak-willed, but accomplishes what she sets out to accomplish.
Psalm 51:12 … “Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”
Ephesians 6:7 … “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men…”
James 1:22-25 (with a feminine flare) … “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Any woman who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a woman who looks at her face in a mirror and, after looking at herself, goes away and immediately forgets what she looks like. But the woman who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what she has heard, but doing it—she will be blessed in what she does.”
8.      loves God, because He first loved her.

Psalm 42:1 … “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.”
